The Đà Nẵng Air Base VC/NVA POW Camp, near the base's maingate, is backlit by flares during the 1966 Buddhist uprising.
U.S. forces remained netural until near the end when General Ky led ARVN troops into the city of Đà Nẵng and broke the rebellion.
ARVN AF bombed pockets of resistence near the Air Base, but were very careful not to strike the base.
